Hayk, pronounced hay-k (just like it's spelled), is an Arabic word that means "that's just the way it is". When I asked "Why?" about something in the language, this is the most common answer I recieved. I learned that the culture could be explained that way, as well as many things in life.

I just told Nathan the other day that I thought ya'll would be having a girl. Don't know why I had that inclination...but I did. Congratulations! Glad to hear that she's healthy and developing as she should.
I almost changed my vote.
Congrats! Very exciting...
So, when will we know the name? On her birthday? Do you have a nickname for her in the meantime? (Like MAB's Bean?)
Yes, we'll reveal the name on her birthday, but probably not on the blog. We've been calling her sprout since before we knew it was a her. But maybe the nickname needs to change now, not sure.
Yay for sweet little girls! It's so amazing when you get to find out if it's a him or a her.... for one thing it makes referring to your child much easier. No more he/she or him/her. I can't wait until Bean and Sprout can meet!
YIPPPEEE! We needed another little girl in the Life Group.
By the way, I'm going to go ahead and tell everyone that y'all are naming the baby Amy after me and Nobles. :) Okay?
Have fun at the wedding this weekend!!
